Dana Carvey, known for his work on “Saturday Night Live” as Garth Algar in “Wayne’s World” and his impersonations of George H.W. Bush, appeared on the “Today” show Thursday morning to deliver impersonations of Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton.
Carvey said the Trump impression is easy — all you have to do is pucker your mouth a certain way, do “the seal” (hold your arms partially outstretched and push them forward and back) and make an “eh, eh” noise.
“If he does start World War III, we'll be in our bunkers and still get close circuit with him and he'll still be selling it,” Carvey said before beginning his impression of Trump. “We had a fabulous nuclear war. Let me tell you. Our bunkers are so good. Their bunkers are a disaster, terrible, terrible.”
Carvey said he can do Hillary Clinton now, because her voice has gotten more hoarse. But he prefers to do Hillary Clinton with Bill Clinton behind the scenes.
“Big Dog to Little Hill. Big Dog to Little Hill. Slow down, slow down, Hill. Slow down, baby,” Carvey said, imitating Bill Clinton before switching to Hillary Clinton. “And she's like, ‘We will the things that we do when we do 'em!’ That's not an applause line, baby. That's not an applause — you can't emphasize every word. Peaches and cream. Peaches and cream.”
Today Show host Matt Lauer told Carvey between laughs that he was his “favorite guest in five years,” since actor Dustin Hoffman.
