Donald Trump is restructuring his campaign – again.
Following consistently losing poll numbers and revelations that his campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, helped a Ukrainian pro-Russian group secretly route $2.2 million to D.C. lobbying firms, Trump announced Wednesday he’s bringing in some outside help. Namely: Stephen Bannon, the chairman of conservative outlet Breitbart News.
While Manafort will keep his title, Trump allies say Bannon will serve as CEO of Trump’s White House bid, overseeing campaign staff and operations.
He’s also bringing in pollster Kellyanne Conway to serve as his campaign manager.
The change comes less than two months after former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski was fired. You may remember him after a high-profile incident wherein he allegedly grabbed the arm of a Breitbart reporter.
Lewandowski himself weighed in on the shakeup, adding “[Trump] wants to have people around him who want to win at all costs.”
Hillary Clinton shrugged off the changes, suggesting the changes won’t fix her rival’s campaign.
Could this bring about a new Donald Trump? Some outlets say yes, but it wouldn’t be the first time they jumped to that conclusion.
