Only 45 percent of us are happy at work. That's bad news for the other half.
A lot of it is directly related to the recession. Those who still have jobs are, no doubt, suffering anxiety about their future.
Even if your job description hasn't changed in the past year, it's likely that your sense of security has decreased.
It's also likely that more people are working at jobs that are a mismatch with their skills. Being underemployed sure beats being unemployed, but it's probably not a great morale booster.
If you're ones of those who is unhappy at work, consider the Serenity Prayer. Take charge of the things you can change and let go of those that you can't.
The recession in general is a problem that you personally can't solve, but you can do things to improve your situation.
