Kimberly Mueller has done nothing in a distinguished legal and political career to incur the wrath of U.S. Senate Republicans, but she probably will anyway.

Oh, man. When the president of the United States nominated Mueller to be a judge for the Eastern District of California in Sacramento, it was a thrill. And it was like getting her hand caught in a raging machine.
On Friday, Mueller will travel to Washington, D.C., for her confirmation hearing. She will undoubtedly pack attire suitable for the occasion — and a bull's-eye.
Still seething from having a massive health care reform bill shoved down their throats, GOP senators are in no mood to give any Obama nominee a free ride.
In fact, the ride already has been bumpy.
